"Let me preface by telling you that this restaurant is as authentic as it gets in Calgary. Food? Delicious. Service? Great. Atmosphere? Fantastic. We had the Signature Miso Ramen, the Tonkotsu Ramen, and a mini don add-on. The soup broth was full of umami and the overall atmosphere and environment was similar to that of Japan, down to the little wood seats for waiting. I was surprised that there wasn’t a crowd for lunch on Saturday as this place is really reasonable in price, with excellent service compared to another ramen spot in downtown that I will not name. To top it all off, we were served complimentary dessert in the form of Ice Cream. If you’re looking for a tasty ramen spot that won’t break your wallet, Shimizu Kitchen is the place to go."

"Wanted to try some Ramen and found this place not too far from home. Ordered the Tantanmen, Buta Don and mini teriyaki don. Portions were a good size. The pork belly in the Tantanmen was delicious and the broth was spicy but not over the top. There was plenty of char sui in the Buta Don. The miso soup was tasty. Would definitely come again. Oh also came with a nice little bowl of chocolate ice cream for dessert (free)."

"Having traveled to Japan twice now, I can honestly say this is one of the most authentic Japanese ramen restaurants in Calgary. The ambiance, staff, and food brings me right back to Japan. I have tried the sashimi, gyoza, ramen, and curry and it is all very high quality and tastes delicious, all for a very reasonable price. Plus you get free homemade icecream afterwards.
